As mentioned several times my motivation for writing these programs is mainly to use them myself. If others find them good enough to use them I’m glad. But if you decide against them – that is fine with me.

When using the programs – or in rare cases when colleagues point me to a problem – errors and bugs emerge. In most cases I correct them immediately. However I do not always publish a new version on my homepage.

Lately I went through all parts of the program and have now published a new version. Although there are no significant changes I decided to name it version 6.1. Mainly its about correction of bugs and some “cosmetic” changes.

You can update your version with the function “Update/upgrade CallerToolBox”. You will not loose any data using this function.

Following a list of the main changes:

• Several DLL files have been updated to the latest version. Although this does not give additional functionality it will ensure that everything works on actual platforms (like Windows 11).
• Whenever an unforeseen problem occurs there is a dialogue (in RED) reporting the most important information about this error. There is a button to send me a copy of this information. Unfortunately this only worked for a short time, because Google changed some parameters. As I’m not sending emails to myself I did not know about this for quite some time. Now it is possible again to use the button “Send Email to Gerhard”. Please use it to make me aware of problems occuring on your machine. Only then I can correct them.
• The program “View Files” has been extended with some more functions and some bugs were corrected.
  • It now is possible to start any file with a right mouse click (“external program”). As far as a program is installed on your system to handle that filetype it will work.
  • The program now handles .MSG files (MS-Outlook format) and .EPUB files (Ebooks).
  • For music files an internal player is started. With the right mouse button you can open Caller-specific players for singing calls and patter. You will also see additional information about your .MP3 files (ID3 information).
  • For unknown filetypes an attempt is made to display additional information about this file. You may notice some interesting facts.
  • PDF files will be displayed by an internal viewer.
• The external programs that can be downloaded with my program (“Add additional programs”) have been updated. Use the mentioned function to have your version updated. Any parameters should be kept.
